Introducing William Hogan

Farlows is delighted to announce the appointment of William Hogan to the position of Shooting Sales Assistant at our Pall Mall store.

In addition to offering his extensive expertise to our in-store customers William will also be producing a regular shooting blog for this site, keeping beginner, improver and experienced shots up to date and fully informed with everything they need to gain maximum enjoyment from the sport.

To begin this process we have asked Will to make his his own introduction:



"I was born and raised in the Cotswolds and the Highlands of Scotland where shooting became a passion of my life, this was particularly fostered from an early age by my father, an accomplished gunsmith.

I have a true passion for nature and the outdoors. After attending agricultural college studying countryside management, this same passion led me to a career as a gamekeeper where, for over a decade, I worked across the UK on both private and commercial shoots. This fantastic career also enabled me to experience gamekeeping in New Zealand, where I helped to develop a driven shoot in the southern hemisphere.

My enthusiasm for the sport is infectious. I have vast experience and a knowledge of all aspects of shooting, from the rearing of the birds, through to hosting a shoot and the etiquette expected; all of this accompanied by full awareness of firearms and gun safety.

A keen game and clay shot I also regularly go deer stalking, whenever time permits.

I hold the countryside with the utmost respect and draw my passion for life from it and I hope over the coming months to be able to impart some of this passion for my sport, and for the countryside, to customers both in-store and indeed online, via a regular blog I shall be writing throughout the shooting season.”
