Lai Symes trained in London with Rose Cory, who was milliner by Appointment to the Queen Mother. In 2000 she was awarded The Queen Elizabeth Scholarship to study couture millinery. The award and examples of her work were featured in the media including The Guardian, The Financial Times and on the BBC.

Farlows of Pall Mall is currently selling Lai's limited collection of ladies' couture felt hats entitled 'Fishing Fly'.
Each design is unique and was inspired and named after a fishing fly with all the romance, beauty and craftsmanship the tying of the traditional Scottish salmon flies evokes and individual appointments can be made with Lai in-store for advice or a personalised bespoke fitting of the hats.
Lai is pictured above in-store with her magnificent ‘Pale Evening Dun’ and her full collection of ‘Fishing Fly’ hats may be viewed in-store, or on her website laihats.co.uk

For further information, or to make an appointment for a fitting, please contact Farlows by telephone on: 020 7484 1000 or by email at: info@farlows.co.uk
